In February 2011, Inbye® Mining Services (Inbye) announced that the Nepean® Group became a majority shareholder. As a result Inbye has become part of the Nepean® Group and will be known as Nepean® Longwall.
As part of the Nepean® Group, Inbye® (Nepean® Longwall) is now a division of a large financially strong and respected Australian engineering business.
Nepean® has evolved considerably from a small engineering and tool making business founded 35 years ago, to become one of Australia's leading mining services, engineering and industrial manufacturing businesses, employing over 1200 people across eight countries.
On the 1st August 2011 Nepean® announced a companywide restructure and rebranding, creating four divisions which encompass its 15 businesses, to better reflect its strengths as a large Australian engineering and manufacturing enterprise.
This group is strategically positioned to participate fully in the Australian mining and infrastructure growth.
The newNepean® divisions are Mining, Engineering & Innovation, Building & Infrastructure and Transport.
Nepean® already has a well known coal mining equipment businesses in conveying systems and specialist electrical distribution systems.
With the addition of the Inbye longwall business the Nepean® mining companies represent a strategically significant capital equipment supplier the Australian coal mining industry.
The newly branded Nepean® Mining Division has three business arms: Longwall, Conveyors, and Power.
Nepean® Longwall, has operations in NSW and Qld. It combines Australian expertise and experience with global technologies to offer its customers a complete suite of underground longwall mining products and services.
Products include complete longwall system packages as well as the Inbye® brand of longwall coal clearance systems incorporating armoured face conveyors, stage loaders, crushers and longwall bootends.
Nepean® Longwall also provides complete longwall equipment overhaul and aftermarket services in Queensland and NSW. It has a growing presence in the management of surfaced-based coal mine methane as well as manufacturing free-flow and gas engine-powered methane extraction systems and complete destruction or utlilisation plants.
