David McCloskey was appointed the Inbye Mining Services (Inbye) NSW Market Team General Manager Tuesday, 4th January 2010.
David brings to Inbye, 30 years of experience and expertise in the mining industry especially in underground coal mining.
During his 30 year career, David was employed in design/development, manufacturing, sales, marketing and management.
He has developed a passion for underground coal mining that he is keen to express in his new role at Inbye.
With tertiary qualifications in mining, marketing and management, David is uniquely placed to add value to the Inbye sales and marketing management.

with several major corporations including BHP Collieries, Sandvik, DBT (now Bucyrus), Brambles, and OneSteel.
The NSW Inbye sales team report directly to David and the workshop, overhauls, spares parts and repairs staff report indirectly.
David's responsibilities at Inbye include:
- Strategic market planning
- New business development
- NSW business performance monitoring
- Business improvement process installation
- Customer service & support
- Contract negotiations & delivery
- Leadership, coaching & team building
- Safety culture improvement
- Management of Quality Assurance (QA)
- Processes improvements
- Marketing budgeting
- Implementation of marketing & sales plans
- Evaluation of market performance
Mr Richard Eveleigh, Managing Director, Inbye Mining Services, states;
"David has been appointed on the basis of his experience and outstanding track record in the mining industry.
As well as managing the Inbye sales and marketing team, he is also responsible for revolutionising the Inbye manufacturing process by installing Lean manufacturing practices.
These improvements are expected to streamline Inbye operations by eliminating process wastage, providing better customer value and improving customer service.
In principle, Lean manufacturing is simple as it recognises that customers do not pay for the mistakes, but only for the value of the product or the service they are purchasing. "
David intends to use 4 steps to overhaul processes and manufacturing:
- Raise awareness that there are wastes in current processes
- Find solutions to the current wastage
- Identify the different forms of wastage
- Implement new processes to improve processes & eliminate wastages
